Alleppey
Alleppey's backwater canals and overnight houseboats make it Kerala's most distinctive slow-travel destination.
From the marble silence of the Taj Mahal at sunrise to the fire of a Varanasi ghat ceremony at dusk, India rewards those who go beyond the postcard. Our specialists open the private palaces, the pre-dawn wildlife tracks, and the tables most visitors never find.
India stretches from the Himalayan passes of Ladakh in the north to the tropical canals of Kerala in the south, and from Rajasthan's desert forts in the west to Assam's river plains in the east. The country holds 28 states, eight major climate zones, and 40 UNESCO World Heritage Sites within a single border.
The famous places to visit in India, including Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, and Varanasi, are each distinct worlds, not just cities with sights attached. Rajasthan's painted havelis share almost nothing with Kerala's spice-scented canals. The Himalayan monasteries of Ladakh bear no resemblance to the stone temples of Tamil Nadu. India is also the birthplace of four of the world's great religions, adding a deep cultural and spiritual dimension to its landscapes.
Wildlife spans the country, from tiger-rich reserves in Bandhavgarh and Kanha to Kaziranga’s one-horned rhinos and Jawai’s dense leopard landscape.
Most arrivals land at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, or Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. India's geography makes routing critical, as the wrong sequence adds days of unnecessary travel. Begovo maps the journey so every chapter moves with India's logic and ensures a seamless travel flow.

Each journey below is a starting point, not a fixed route. Tell us what draws you to India and we rebuild it entirely around that.
Curated experiences
North, south, east, and centre, each region of India operates on its own cultural logic. Here is how we read the map.
Alleppey's backwater canals and overnight houseboats make it Kerala's most distinctive slow-travel destination.
Cochin blends Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonial architecture with a cosmopolitan spice-trade waterfront.
Hyderabad pairs the Charminar and Old City bazaars with a Biryani culture that is distinct and deeply rooted.
Kovalam offers three crescent beaches on the Kerala coast with a calm, unhurried pace suited to long stays.
Personally inspected
The difference between an expensive hotel and a great one is soul. Every property here has been assessed on that single standard.

India has eight distinct climate zones and no single best season. The right window depends entirely on which region you are travelling to.
October through March is the prime window for Rajasthan, the Golden Triangle, and the Gangetic Plains. Temperatures sit between 8 and 25 degrees, which is cool enough for full-day sightseeing and comfortable desert nights. December and January bring the clearest light for Taj Mahal photography. Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh reach peak activity as conditions draw wildlife into the open.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka operate on their own climate logic. The southwest monsoon (June–August) actually enhances Kerala, as the backwaters fill and lodge rates drop. For dry conditions, September through May covers the Alleppey canals, Madurai and Thanjavur temples, and the Coorg coffee estates. Kovalam beach season peaks from November to March.
Ladakh is a summer-only destination. The Manali–Leh Highway opens in June and closes by late October. High passes above 5,000 metres require two to three days of acclimatisation in Leh before onward travel. August delivers the clearest skies and most open trekking routes. Jim Corbett and Rishikesh are best between November and June.
Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Pench in Madhya Pradesh follow their own timetable. The parks reopen after the monsoon in October. Tiger sightings peak between March and May as the sal forests thin and animals converge on waterholes. The parks close entirely during June and July due to heavy monsoon conditions. Book Mahua Kothi and Kings Lodge at least six months in advance, as March and April departures sell out first.
from the field
Every journey begins with a single step off the familiar path. These are dispatches from the edges of the map. Stories of temples found at dawn, coastlines driven at dusk, and the strangers who became guides. Not itineraries. Not reviews. Just the moments that made us stop, look around, and think: this is why we travel.
India is one of the few countries where …
