Itinerary

Your plane lands at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. A chauffeur driver guide greets you and transfers you by private sedan to your chosen hotel in Baku. After check in, the rest of the day is free to settle in after your flight. You may take a short walk along Baku Boulevard or simply rest in your room. The evening is yours to explore a local cafe on your own. You overnight in Azerbaijan’s vibrant capital with no meals included today.

Following breakfast, your chauffeur guide picks you up for a full exploration of Baku. You visit the UNESCO listed Old City with its Maiden Tower and Palace of the Shirvanshahs. Then you drive along the seaside boulevard and up to Upland Park for stunning panoramas of the Flame Towers and Baku Bay. The tour includes a funicular ride, one of the city’s most scenic experiences. You return to your hotel in the late afternoon with time to relax before dinner on your own.

Breakfast is followed by a drive north to the Khizi region, known for its otherworldly moonscape and mud volcanoes. Your chauffeur guide leads you to the bubbling craters, a natural phenomenon unique to Azerbaijan. You explore the rocky terrain, spot wild horses if lucky, and enjoy a picnic style lunch amid the silence of the steppe. The return drive offers views of the Caspian Sea coastline as you head back to the city. You are back in Baku by early evening, with the rest of the night free.

After breakfast, you check out of your Baku hotel. Your chauffeur guide transfers you to Heydar Aliyev International Airport for a short flight to Tbilisi. Alternatively, a private land transfer can be arranged at extra cost if you prefer to travel by road. Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, a new Georgian chauffeur guide meets you and takes you to your hotel in the capital. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or take a gentle stroll along Rustaveli Avenue.

Early breakfast and checkout from your Tbilisi hotel. Your chauffeur guide drives you along the legendary Georgian Military Highway toward the Caucasus Mountains. You stop at Ananuri Fortress overlooking the turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir, then at Gudauri for photos of the ski slopes and paragliders. Weather permitting, you continue to Kazbegi and take a 4x4 jeep up to Gergeti Trinity Church, perched at 2,170 metres with Mount Kazbek as a backdrop. You then check into your hotel in Gudauri for a night high in the mountains with dinner included.

After breakfast and checkout from Gudauri, your chauffeur guide takes you south to Mtskheta, Georgia’s former capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You visit Jvari Monastery from the 6th century on a hilltop overlooking the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Then you explore Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where Christ’s robe is said to be buried, learning about its legends and architecture. Returning to Tbilisi, you check into your hotel and enjoy a free evening to explore local dining. You overnight in the capital with breakfast provided for the next morning.

Your chauffeur guide meets you after breakfast for a walking tour of old Tbilisi. You start at Rike Park, take the cable car to Narikala Fortress for panoramic views, then descend through narrow streets with wooden balconies and hidden courtyards. You pass the only mosque in Tbilisi, the waterfall inside the gorge, and the famous Abanotubani sulfur bath district. Crossing the futuristic Bridge of Peace, you see Sioni Cathedral, the 6th century Anchiskhati Basilica, and Rezo Gabriadze’s clock tower. The tour ends at your hotel in the afternoon, leaving you free to rest or shop.

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel before checking out for the last time. Your chauffeur guide transfers you to Tbilisi International Airport in a private vehicle, timed to match your departure flight schedule. The journey concludes with lasting memories of Baku’s flaming towers, mud volcanoes, mountain vistas from Gudauri, ancient Mtskheta, and Tbilisi’s charming old town. You board your flight home or to your next destination with a sense of wonder from the Caucasus. Safe travels until you return to this beautiful region.
