Kenya Tanzania Essential Safari
Embark on a heartbeat-quickening journey through East Africa’s most iconic wildlife heartlands. Kenya’s Masai Mara greets you with endless savannah, where golden light spills over acacia trees as cheetahs and lions claim the day, and elephants drift along river edges beneath sculpted skies. Crossing into Tanzania, the Serengeti unfurls in a vast canvas of endless plains, where wildebeest herds surge and the drama of predators unfolds in real time. The Ngorongoro Crater adds a dramatic counterpoint: a caldera-laden panorama of wildlife concentration, hippo pools, and flamingo-lit shores. Each day blends intimate dune of time with long, action-filled game drives, guided by trackers and seasoned naturalists who read animal behavior as if turning pages in a well-worn map. You’ll stay at carefully selected camps that balance comfort and wilderness, savoring sundowner moments as silhouettes of elephants and giraffes drift across the horizon. It’s a journey that rewards patient observation, close-up wildlife encounters, and a profound sense of connection to the wild heartbeat of Africa.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you meet your professional safari guide for a short briefing. You then transfer by road from Nairobi to the Masai Mara National Reserve, with landscape and photographic stops along the way. You arrive in the afternoon and check in at Enkorok Mara Camp, followed by lunch at the camp. In the afternoon to early evening, you begin exploring open savannah and riverine habitats that support a wide diversity of wildlife. Possible sightings include elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, buffalo, and predators depending on natural movement. You return to camp for sunset wildlife viewing, refreshments, and dinner.
After an early breakfast and sunrise departure from Enkorok Mara Camp, you explore open plains and seasonal grazing zones where wildebeest and zebra herds may be feeding, resting, or moving. Your guide uses track reading, ranger updates, and animal behaviour to select suitable viewing areas. You explore diverse habitats including open plains, marsh areas, and river ecosystems. The Mara is known for lions, cheetahs, and leopards. If timing aligns with the Great Migration (typically late July onwards), large herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the plains. You visit river areas where hippos and crocodiles are often observed. The Mara also offers rich birdlife including secretary birds, vultures, crowned cranes, and raptors. A picnic lunch is served at a designated site inside the park. In the afternoon, you follow wildlife movement at a comfortable pace with time for photography. You return to Enkorok Mara Camp for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast and check-out from Enkorok Mara Camp, you enjoy a final morning exit drive through the Masai Mara. You then transfer by road toward the Isebania border post, with possible short scenic stops. Lunch is served at the Isebania border post in Tanzania. In the afternoon to early evening, you have an en-route guided game drive toward camp in the Northern Serengeti, with bird watching, wildlife viewing, elephant watching, and scenic photo stops. You arrive at Safari Haven Migration Camp for check-in, dinner, and overnight.
After breakfast and check-out from Safari Haven Migration Camp, you depart toward the Kogatende sector for a guided game drive along river corridors (Mara River areas). Focus includes wildebeest and zebra herds, Thomson's gazelle, topi, lions and cheetah territories, elephant and giraffe families, and hippos and crocodiles near river zones. Lunch is served at a designated viewpoint before transitioning south. In the afternoon, you begin an en-route game drive toward Central Serengeti, crossing multiple wildlife systems including endless plains, big cat territories, open savannahs, and kopjes. Wildlife highlights (nature dependent) include lions resting on kopjes, cheetahs scanning plains, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and diverse birdlife. You arrive at Safari Haven in Central Serengeti for check-in, refreshments, dinner, and overnight.
After an early breakfast and check-out from Safari Haven, your transfer is also a game drive, looking for animals as you go. You enjoy a full guided game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater floor (note: PDF says Ngorongoro Highlands for Day 5 but activities show crater floor; we follow PDF activities). You make hippo and bird watching stops. A picnic lunch is served at a designated spot. In the afternoon, you enjoy a scenic drive into the Ngorongoro Highlands. You then transfer by road to Fig Tree Lodge & Camp in Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast and check-out from Fig Tree Lodge & Camp, you make a scenic descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. You enjoy a full guided game drive on the crater floor with Big Five viewing opportunities, a visit to the hippo pool, and hippo and bird watching stops. A picnic lunch is served at a designated spot. In the afternoon, you continue wildlife viewing and exit the crater, with flamingo watching. You ascend from the crater to the gate and transfer by road to Arusha, where the tour ends.
