Sri Lanka Island Odyssey

Your flight lands at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Your chauffeur driver welcomes you and drives you south to Galle, a journey of about three hours. Upon arrival, you check into Mandara Resort Mirissa. The rest of the day is free to rest or explore the nearby beach. No meals are provided today. Breakfast will be served tomorrow morning.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you toward Yala. En route, you stop in Weligama to see the famous stilt fishermen perched on poles above the water. At 3:00 PM, your chauffeur driver leads an evening jeep safari in Yala National Park, where you search for leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. You return to your hotel as dusk falls. Only breakfast is included today.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you toward Ella. You stop for photos at Ravana Falls, then visit the hidden Buduruwagala Temple with its massive 50‑foot standing Buddha rock carvings. A stop at Diyaluma Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s tallest waterfalls, follows. In Ella, you walk across the iconic Nine Arches Bridge and hike Little Adam’s Peak for sunset views over tea plantations. You overnight in Ella. Breakfast is included.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver helps you board the scenic train from Ella to Nanu Oya, a journey through tea‑covered hills and misty valleys. Upon arrival, you visit Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya before continuing to Kandy. In Kandy, you enjoy a private tuk tuk ride through the city streets and visit the local market. At 5:00 PM, you watch a cultural dance show, followed by the traditional Theva ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth Relic at 6:30 PM. Breakfast is included.

Your chauffeur driver takes you after breakfast to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you watch orphaned elephants being fed and bathed in the river. In the afternoon, you visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, home to over 4,000 plant species including a giant Javan fig tree and an orchid house. You return to your Kandy hotel for a second night. Only breakfast is included today.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver drives you toward Dambulla. En route, you stop at a spice garden in Matale to see cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper plantations. You then visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO site with five caves containing over 150 Buddha statues and beautiful frescoes. You check into your hotel for two nights. Breakfast is provided.

Your chauffeur driver takes you after breakfast to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th century UNESCO site. You climb the 600‑foot lion rock, passing ancient frescoes and reaching the summit for panoramic views. In the late afternoon, your chauffeur driver leads a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park (or Kaudulla/Eco Park), where you may witness hundreds of elephants gathering around the reservoir. You return to your hotel for a second night. Breakfast is included.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO site with well‑preserved ruins including the Gal Vihara Buddha statues and the Royal Palace complex. In the evening, you enjoy a city tour of Trincomalee, visiting the Koneswaram Temple on Swami Rock, Lovers’ Leap, and Fort Frederick. You check into your beach hotel for three nights. Breakfast is included.

After breakfast, you have a full free day to relax at the beach. You can swim in the clear waters, sunbathe on the soft sand, or explore the nearby town on your own. Optional water sports such as snorkeling or diving can be arranged locally at extra cost. No scheduled tours or chauffeur services are provided today. Breakfast is included; lunch and dinner are on your own.

Another full day of relaxation awaits. You might take a walk along the shoreline, read a book under a palm tree, or take a short trip to nearby Pigeon Island for snorkeling (not included). The pace is entirely yours to set. Your chauffeur driver is available upon request for paid transfers. Breakfast is provided; no other meals are included.
