Sri Lanka Round Trip

Your flight lands at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Your chauffeur driver welcomes you and drives you to Pinnawala, about two hours away. You visit the Elephant Orphanage, watching rescued elephants feed and bathe in the river. Afterwards, you continue to Dambulla to explore the Cave Temple, a UNESCO site with five caves filled with over 150 Buddha statues. You check into your hotel for two nights. No meals are provided today.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You wander through the ancient city, seeing the Gal Vihara Buddha statues, the Royal Palace ruins, and the Thuparama shrine. In the late afternoon, your chauffeur driver leads a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park, where you may witness hundreds of elephants gathering around the reservoir. You return to your hotel for a second night. Only breakfast is included.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th century UNESCO site. You climb the 600‑foot lion rock, passing ancient frescoes and reaching the summit for panoramic views. En route to Kandy, you stop at a Matale spice garden to see cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper plantations. In Kandy, you enjoy a private tuk tuk ride through the city streets and visit the local market. At 5:00 PM, you watch a cultural dance show, followed by the traditional Theva ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Breakfast is included.

Your chauffeur driver takes you after breakfast to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, home to over 4,000 plant species, including a giant Javan fig tree and an orchid house. You stop at Ramboda Falls for photos, then continue to Nuwara Eliya, known as Little England. You visit Victoria Park, stroll around Gregory Lake, and tour a tea plantation and factory to learn about Ceylon tea production. You check into your hotel for the night. Breakfast is provided.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver transfers you to Nanu Oya station. You board the scenic train to Ella (tickets subject to availability), winding through tea plantations, misty hills, and cascading waterfalls. At 3:00 PM, your driver meets you at Ella station and takes you to the Nine Arches Bridge, a brick and cement marvel from 1921. In the late afternoon, you hike Little Adam’s Peak for sunset views over the surrounding valleys. You overnight in Ella. Breakfast is included.

After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you toward Yala. You stop at Ravana Falls for photos, then visit Diyaluma Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s tallest waterfalls. You continue to Buduruwagala Temple, where seven massive Buddha rock carvings stand over 50 feet tall. At 3:00 PM, your chauffeur driver leads an evening jeep safari in Yala National Park, searching for leopards, elephants, and crocodiles. You check into your hotel for the night. After breakfast, your chauffeur driver takes you toward Galle. En route, you stop in Weligama to see the famous stilt fishermen perched on poles above the water. You then explore Galle Fort, a UNESCO site with well‑preserved Dutch colonial architecture, including the Dutch Reformed Church and the lighthouse. You stroll along the narrow streets and browse small boutiques. You check into your beach hotel for a final night. Breakfast is included.
